LAKELAND, FL – August 10, 2021 – SteriPack Group (“SteriPack”), a leading global contract manufacturer serving the medical device, pharmaceutical, and diagnostic markets, announces the launch of XpressCollectTM. An innovative product that integrates a lower nasal collection device within a dry transport vial promoting increased accessibility, courtesy of self-collection, while also substantially reducing laboratory costs for COVID-19 testing.
XpressCollect is going to make a big impact in the marketplace allowing for highly accurate testing of large numbers of people for COVID and other viruses in an efficient yet cost-effective manner.
“We are excited to launch the first generation of XpressCollect for COVID-19 testing,” says Andrew McLean, President and CEO of SteriPack. “But we also look to the future where we can deploy screening for other under screened disease states.”
SteriPack plans to expand the XpressCollect product line into women’s health, TB, and Flu A&B, in addition to Covid.
The development of XpressCollect is the latest example of SteriPack’s continued efforts to combat COVID-19. The pandemic revealed a global shortage of diagnostic supplies needed for sample collection and testing. SteriPack partnered with a world-renowned organization and U.S. Cotton to produce sterile polyester swabs, producing over 1 million swabs per week. Parallel to manufacturing swabs for COVID testing, SteriPack began working on a device that would eliminate many of the shortages the pandemic exposed in sample collection and testing. XpressCollect was expertly designed to increase accessibility for sample collection while reducing supplies needed for laboratory testing and eliminating many of the bottlenecks.
